Assessment Lesson Explained

What is an assessment lesson?

An assessment lesson is ideal for learners who want to know how many hours they need to pass their driving test, along with a rough estimate of the total cost upfront or paid weekly.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a complete beginner or someone who has had 20 driving lessons before. Our instructors will tailor your 2-hour assessment to your current ability.

What is covered?

Depending on your ability will determine what is covered. If you are a complete beginner, you can expect to cover the following:

  • Controls and cockpit drill
  • Moving off and stopping
  • Turning left and possibly turning right

Depending on the practice area, you may even drive home at the end of your first lesson.

If you have driven before, your instructor will start your lesson based on your previous experience. If you have failed a test with another company, then your instructor may look at the following:

  • General driving
  • See how you cope with some of the test routes
  • Look at your manoeuvres
  • Mini mock test or full mock test, depending on your level

Want to book an assessment lesson?

The benefit of starting with 2 hours is that your instructor can provide the feedback you require;

  • How many lessons you need
  • Cost
  • When to book your test or when you will be ready

If you’re looking for the above answers, then the assessment lesson is for you.
